Evidence civil case can the police be forced to release it?

I hope the case is important to you as you're in for a long long long long long loooooong haul! If it is something petty then I would forget it as the police probably want to, as clearly someone has screwed something up and they're too busy on new stuff to really be arsed to deal with it.
